Meet the Artist
Hello, Mark’d Beauties.
My name is Mariela, but you can call me Miah. I’m a self-taught makeup artist who’s been in this field for over a decade. I offer makeup, body art and special effect services.
Before the brushes
Fifteen, and all in.
I’m a mom and a proud Hispanic woman. Like a lot of girls in our culture, I grew up waiting: no makeup, no dark colors, none of it until I turned fifteen, the year you go from niña to señorita.
So when fifteen finally came, I didn’t ease into it. I went all in, and I never looked back.
That’s why milestones mean so much to me. Whether it’s a quinceañera, a wedding day, or the first time you really see yourself in the mirror, I know how big that moment is, and I treat it that way.
Where it started
From my apartment to my own studio.
I started offering these services in the middle of my apartment, or traveling to clients’ homes — I was ready to do what was necessary to live out my dream of becoming a professional artist.
Now, I still travel to my clients, but I also have my own studio where clients can feel more comfortable in a professional setting.
Why “Mark’d”
A mark, left both ways.
My business name “Mark’d” came from the idea of my art leaving a mark on everyone who books an appointment with me, as well as my clients leaving their mark on me.
My goal with every service I perform is for you to feel just a bit more confident than when you first sat in my seat.
